Lotus alive!

How times change: Once (2004 and 2007) was Lotus Notes, the "leading tool filth" in an - admittedly limited representative - survey. Meanwhile, it is to place three "slipped off" and threatened by Microsoft Word to be overhauled. Perhaps in the unshakable optimism that the Lotus representatives take the same approach, but that is something?

And perhaps again, the Microsoft employees and Microsoft are close to human hearing rumors about an early demise of the Exchange's competitors but somewhat exaggerated? The doubts are a current notification new food, which IBM has a number of major customers for its Lotus collaboration software could win, while Microsoft had the See.

The main reason is that companies "in the current economic climate cost-effective solutions." Among the new customers gained include the Linde Group, Coca Cola, HSBC Bank, BASF and Hyundai. That does not sound bad - and Microsoft has certainly hurt done.

Strunk victory is Bob Picciano, general manager IBM Lotus Software, after the same again: "Companies can not currently funds for high license and maintenance fees issue, nor do they have the patience for ill-software." While Microsoft's customers for more enhancements to Windows and Exchange to seven years of patience, please, please bring IBM Lotus continues to timely new releases.

Picciano raises with his teasing especially during the Microsoft Tech-Ed conference in Los Angeles from the recommendation that customers who have not yet migrated to Exchange 2007 are, skip this step and should wait until 2010. Well, at least the dates now so successful Lotus Notes 8 also clear from the Summer 2007.

And how is it for you? Wait or migrate to Lotus Notes?
